Building Momentum

January 2020 felt like the longest month ever. For me, that’s been a blessing because it’s the first time in a long time that I’ve truly felt like myself, as opposed to constantly trying to feel better. The slow start has been good for me. I think I’m ready to pick up the pace. I’m gaining momentum.… Read More Building Momentum

Power Mom: Karen Stout

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing this woman for my entire life. She’s one of my greatest influences as a mother and as a person who shines her light in the community. My aunt Karen, whose birthday happens to be today, is this week’s Power Mom.… Read More Power Mom: Karen Stout

J & R had a baseball team meeting at 5:45. Their school is way across town from our home. If we waited until we got home after the meeting and one of us cooked, we would have been eating when I'm trying to go to bed. Since I already had shopping to do it made more sense for me to pick up dinner after work, bring it to their school, and eat before the meeting.
Join me on a walking tour of Tremè. It's the best way to see the unique architecture, experience the one of a kind culture, and to hear the often overlooked stories of New Orleans.
Even when you don't feel like cooking so you make yourself a food board... eat more plants.
History, culture, music, architecture, art, music, food, and most importantly, people are what make New Orleans beautiful.
Just in case you forgot... eat more plants!
